Under general oversight, the director will establish a strategy for portfolio growth in alignment with the divisional strategic plan; provide vision and leadership for start-up programmatic initiatives; working collaboratively across the division, campus and professional community and encompassing a variety of subjects and disciplines within the Life Sciences sector; and has accountability for academic and financial sustainability of all programs created. Additionally, they will advise and support the Dean on workforce initiatives for Aggie Square, and will liaise directly with the Aggie Square team. The director is expected to be an academic leader in the field of life sciences, to bring strong expertise in workforce development strategies and approaches, and have recent experience in life sciences programming, along with a well-developed life sciences network that spans academia and industry. Appointment/Compensation: This is a full-time academic position with a term appointment with an initial 1-year appointment, eligible for continued reappointment. Salary commensurate with level and experience. UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education is unable to sponsor a work visa (H-1B) to fill this position. Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that they are legally authorized to work in the United States.
