The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University announces a selection procedure for the position a Department Head for:

Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation

Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation is an educational and research unit of the Faculty of Medicine at Masaryk University. It provides teaching for the Bachelor’s degree programme in Physiotherapy, the follow-up Master’s degree programme in Applied Physiotherapy, and selected courses within the General Medicine degree programme.

The candidate for Head of the Department must be a respected expert in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation at both national and international level, with experience in team management and teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.

The Head of the Department will be responsible for the management of the department’s operations and finances, undergraduate education, postgraduate studies, publication activities, and coordination of the department’s research activities. As part of the selection procedure, candidates for the position of Head of the Department will present their vision for fulfilling the responsibilities outlined above.


Requirements for a declared position

  • Higher education degree in a healthcare or related field with a focus on physiotherapy and rehabilitation, or an equivalent degree obtained abroad;
  • Academic degree Ph.D. or scientific rank of CSc.;
  • Habilitation within the meaning of Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education, the scientific-pedagogical title of professor is an advantage;
  • Personal and professional qualifications for leading the department’s academic team;
  • Experience in teaching and readiness to guarantee the specialised courses taught by the department;
  • Active research and publication record;
  • International scientific reputation;
  • Good moral character and civic integrity;
  • Fulfilment of prerequisites according to Act No. 451/1991 Coll. (the Lustration Act); (persons born after 1 December 1971 and foreign applicants do not have to prove).
