Overview
The Center for Applied Brain and Cognitive Sciences (CABCS) is seeking a Senior Research Coordinator. Under the supervision of Principal Investigators, this position will work both independently and collaboratively to execute human subjects research related to characterizing cognitive performance of individuals and teams working in high-stakes environments.

This is a one-year limited-term appointment with the opportunity for possible renewal based on funding and continued successful performance in the role.

What You'll Do
The Senior Research Coordinator will:

  • Execute literature reviews and extract data from literature to enable meta-analysis in the areas of human perception and cognition, physical movement and activity, and performance under stress, under general supervision of Principal Investigators.

  • Execute study protocols in the area of human perception and cognition, recommending modifications where needed.

  • Coordinate recruitment, screening, scheduling, and consenting of study participants.

  • Assist in preparing human use protocols for initial and continuing reviews.

  • Monitor study-related supplies and equipment.

  • Independently execute data collection with specialized equipment, including EEG, tDCS, fNIRS, eye-tracking, etc.

  • Process and track study participant payments.

  • Organize and prepare study data; assist in data analysis using a variety of software platforms.

  • Assist in manuscript preparation and data presentation at professional conferences.

  • Assist in CABCS tours and demonstrations for visitors and collaborators.

  • Mentor undergraduate student research assistants associated with projects in the laboratory as required.

What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements

  • BA or BS in Psychology or related field.

  • Experience working on literature reviews and/or meta-analyses on topics of human cognitive and physical performance.

  • Experimental background and experience working in a laboratory setting conducting human subjects research.

  • Comfortable working on projects with military and defense implications, including working directly with military personnel and managing military-related tools (airsoft rifles, body armor, backpacks).

Preferred Qualifications

  • MA or MS preferred.

  • Experience and training with specialized laboratory equipment, including eye tracking, EEG, motion capture, bioharnesses.

  • Experience with data analysis programs and software such as Excel, R, Python, SPSS, MATLAB.

  • Prior experience as a laboratory manager or research assistant is desired. Experience mentoring undergraduate research assistants is ideal.

  • Light programming experience using PsychoPy, Python, R, or other languages.

Pay Range

  • Minimum: $24.70 per hour

  • Midpoint: $29.50 per hour

  • Maximum: $34.20 per hour

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
