Communications and Open Science Officer (40% - 60%)

The Communication and Open Science Officer manages the acquisition, curation, and dissemination of open science policy, publications and research data in the NCCR SPIN; This position involves all aspects of open-access, includingscientific publications and research data.
The Officer oversees administrative tasks and is also joining our SPIN office team which is responsible for reporting and communicating, both internal and external, and organising SPIN events, like workshops, annual meetings, and conferences.

Your position

  • management of the NCCR SPIN publications and research data in the NIRA platform and SPIN website;
  • planning, development, and implementation of open science archive policies, procedures, and projects in accordance with SNSF best practices and international standards;
  • reporting on data science policies and activities
  • organizing SPIN events and activities, like for example workshops and training sessions for NCCR SPIN members
  • managing internal and external communication
  • website management
The position is intended to be a long-term engagement.

Your profile

We welcome applicants with experience in communication, reporting, event organization and website management. We welcome diverse backgrounds and skill sets. No previous experience in open science is required. The team will provide the necessary training to the successful candidate and is committed to supporting all members, so you will have the opportunity to learn and develop new skills.
As a proactive individual with a creative and critical mindset and good organizational skills, you are confident in leading the activities described above.

Furthermore, a background or interest in science, ideally physics, might be useful. Fluency in English is mandatory, and German is advantageous.
