Did you know that TU Delft scores high when it comes to employee satisfaction? We therefore also have a positive and future-oriented atmosphere. And we are growing steadily: both when it comes to groundbreaking research and student numbers. You work at the communication department to keep informed and involved 25,000 students and 4,500 employees. You do this together with a large team of communication staff - divided over faculties, support services and a central department - that make use of a broad spectrum of communication tools and competencies.

Job description

This is what you are going to do:

You will put the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering further on the map. Here you make a good start by organizing a number of jubilee activities, but you also want to take steps on a strategic level. Your aim: to demonstrate at national and international level what TU Delft stands for and to profile the faculty as an authority towards the public and science on the core themes: health, mobility and sustainability. Industrial Design is now much more than coming up with a new kind of coffee machine. We are increasingly involved in services. A good example of this is thinking along about a well-functioning public transport chip card. In this way we contribute to a future-proof world.

You lead a team of five communication specialists and are ultimately responsible for the development, supervision and execution of communication processes. Writing newsletters for employees, creating educational material for future students, organizing open days or an inaugural lecture, or putting conclusions of a research into a press release: you and your team add added value to various initiatives in education and communication research area. You do not only do this as a manager, you also develop and write along.

In addition to being a strategic sparring partner for the faculty, you are also an inspiration to your team. As a doer you are used to doing your jobs to a successful conclusion, but you can also delegate. In this way you will have time to delve into the latest developments within the faculty and your field, to make contacts within the organization and to increase the effectiveness of the communication team. You also participate in university-wide communication assignments.

Party! The Faculty of Industrial Design at TU Delft celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. On the occasion of this milestone we organize a symposium and an exhibition. With your organization and communication skills you, as communication manager, manage this and all other activities in the right direction. You can perfectly identify the means of communication you need to use to inform target groups in the Netherlands and beyond and to inspire enthusiasm about all the good things we do at TU Delft.

You have this in house:

    • A university degree in a relevant direction and relevant work experience in the communication profession.

    • Broad knowledge of social media and good editorial skills.

    • An independent and proactive thinker and doer who keeps an overview and can quickly switch between different activities.

    • Organizational qualities and a structured approach.

    • Perseverance and persuasion.

    • A customer and quality-oriented networker with good contact properties.

    • Good knowledge of the Dutch and English language.

This is what we offer:

    • A salary of € 4.406, - to € 5.656, - gross per month.

    • Excellent pension scheme.

    • A year-end bonus of 8.3%.

    • The possibility to partially compile your terms of employment package yourself.

    • The space to work at flexible times and / or at home.

    • Partially paid parental leave.

    • Participation in the Health Coach Program at TU Delft.
