Chief Research Officer and Associate Professor of Research

USC Race and Equity Faculty Los Angeles, California

The University of Southern California Rossier School of Education is seeking applicants for a non-tenure track associate research professor who will help advance its mission and the mission of its Race and Equity Center.

The mission of the USC Rossier School of Education is to prepare leaders to achieve educational equity through practice, research, and policy. We work to improve learning opportunities and outcomes in urban settings and to address disparities that affect historically marginalized groups. We teach our students to value and respect the cultural context of the communities in which they work and to interrogate the systems of power that shape policies and practices. Through innovative thinking and research, we strive to solve the most intractable educational problems.

The mission of the USC Race and Equity Center is to illuminate, disrupt, and dismantle racism in all its forms. The Center pursues this through rigorous interdisciplinary research, high-quality professional learning experiences, the production and wide dissemination of useful tools, trustworthy consultations and strategy advising, and substantive partnerships. Center researchers study an array of racial topics in K-12 schools and districts, colleges and universities, and businesses and firms. It is home to the National Assessment of Collegiate Campus Climates, a quantitative survey administered to undergraduate students across the United States. The Center’s strength largely resides in its interdisciplinary network of faculty affiliates. It unites more than 100 professors across academic schools at USC who are experts on race and racism, people of color, immigration, and other important dimensions of equity. These scholars work together on research, as well as on the development of useful tools and resources.
