Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) aims to recruit a Chief Operating Officer. Reporting directly to the Dean of GU-Q and as a member of the senior leadership team, the position will be responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the operations of the Qatar campus, including Communications, Facilities Management, Finance and Research Compliance, Information Technology and Risk.

The incumbent will provide strategic-level advice and guidance on issues related to and affecting the entire organization, such as policy/program development and allocation of financial resources, and will serve as senior advisor to the Dean and key liaison between GU-Q, Main Campus and Qatar Foundation on major financial, administrative and operational matters. The position will be responsible for ensuring that GU-Q operations are in compliance with applicable Georgetown University policies and procedures, the agreement with Qatar Foundation, and applicable Qatari laws. He/she will provide leadership to the operational units to ensure efficient and effective delivery of administrative services to faculty, staff and students. In close collaboration with the Dean and CFO, he/she will oversee financial policy formulation, revenue and expenditure management and capital budget management.

We seek applications from candidates with a Master's Degree in business, management, finance/accounting, or related field, with at least 10 years of relevant management experience and at least 5 years in an executive-level role. A proven track record of developing and implementing organization-wide operational, business and marketing strategies is required, ideally for a large and diverse multinational organization. Prior experience in financial planning and analysis is also a requirement of the role. Knowledge and understanding of a broad range of administrative and operational functions and processes combined with knowledge of the higher education industry is necessary. Exceptional written and oral communication skills are of key importance in addition to excellent judgement and decision-making skills together with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
