Center administrator for Copenhagen Center for Glycomics


Copenhagen Center for Glycomics (CCG) is looking to recruit a Center administrator per 1 September 2019 or upon agreement. CCG is a Danish National Research Center dedicated to study the field of glycobiology by a multidisciplinary approach involving genetic engineering, mass spectrometry and bioinformatics at the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine ( at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at University of Copenhagen.


Job description


As the Center administrator of CCG you will play a key role in supporting the development  of  the Center. Together with the senior scientific staff you will define the identity, vision and organization of the Center. You are expected to contribute to the development of strategies and new initiatives for moving the center forward and promote visibility, impact and value of the Center’s research activities and funding.


You will work in close collaboration with the center leader to ensure efficient planning and execution of the center’s strategic projects, and you will communicate with relevant stakeholders, including funding agencies, public bodies and international education- and research institutions. You will be responsible for maintaining an overview of all activities in the center, including but not limited to recruitments, visitors, collaborations, finances, applications, research reports and publications.


Furthermore, you will support the center’s educational profile as a PhD course secretary and co-organize scientific meetings, workshops, symposia and conferences. You will also manage our website, info screen and social media channels, as well as the weekly newsletter.


You will be responsible for coordinating HR with the faculty and the department administration, and prepare budgets and financial reports in collaboration with our financial controller. Finally, you will facilitate technology transfer by coordinating the execution of legal agreements, and communicate about the center activities on weekly meetings with the department administration.



We expect you to have a Master’s degree in bioscience (e.g. medicine, biology, biotechnology). Experience with project/research management will be considered an advantage. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in Danish and English, and you are able to manage several complex tasks simultaneously. You are self-driven, ambitious and goal-oriented, and you thrive with teamwork as well as independent problem solving. You take pride in generating an inspiring work environment for yourself and your colleagues, and you strive to promote innovation, leadership and creativity.


Terms of salary and employment

The position is time limited from September 1, 2019 – December 31, 2021 with the possibility of extension.


Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority) with a possibility to negotiate allowances due to qualifications and experience. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.


Working hours will be 37 hours per week
