Aviva Partnership Relationship Manager University of Cambridge, Academic Division United Kingdom

Aviva Partnership Relationship Manager

Based within the Strategic Partnerships Office and reporting to the Head of Business Partnerships, you will work closely with the Cambridge Centre for Data Driven Discovery (C2D3) to manage the relationship with their founder member company, Aviva.

You will initially be managing the Aviva relationship, acting as a single point of contact for the partner company to help them navigate the University, and broker introductions to appropriate people and groups. This will include identifying new opportunities for collaboration by maintaining an excellent and wide ranging working network with colleagues across the collegiate University, but also supporting the resolution of issues that may be preventing progress.

Partnership Managers are responsible for a small portfolio of corporate collaborators, each with a significant yearly budget. You will be expected to monitor, collate, and report on spending and outputs for the benefit of senior internal and external stakeholders. You will be involved in a variety of activities including project portfolio management and development, stakeholder management, project funding and budget management to name a few. This is an opportunity to help shape a new and growing partnership between two leading organisations in an academic field of huge current importance.

To thrive in this role, you need to be a great communicator who is equally happy discussing briefings with senior management and leadership teams as you are in presenting to large groups, or talking diplomatically about difficult situations with internal and external stakeholders. You will be educated to first degree level or equivalent, and have experience working in a UK HEI either as a researcher or administrator. You will be a well organised self-starter who is able to proactively seek out opportunities to expand the relationship. This Partnership's centre of gravity is anticipated to lie in the field of data science, so a top-level technical appreciation would be beneficial but not essential.

As the C2D3 is a cross cutting initiative, the job would also require frequent travel around Cambridge to liaise with other departments and relevant offices. There will also often be the need to travel to Aviva's offices elsewhere in the UK, to allow you to build an effective relationship with the organisation and better understand its needs.

This position is offered on a full time basis. Funding for this position has been secured for five years in the first instance.
