Job Description


-Provides leadership in planning, direction and evaluation of departmental functions to include communications, marketing, public relations, creative and digital media. Directly supervises, motivates and maintains responsibility for respective departmental staff.

-Prioritizes and assigns incoming project requests to appropriate team members.

-Working with the Assistant Vice Chancellor, develops and executes departmental goals and objectives.

-Oversees implementation of a strategic, comprehensive marketing and communications plan designed to foster coordinated messaging among the organization's four agencies and college, while also elevating the Texas A&M AgriLife brand to target audiences.

-Drives the development of a content marketing strategy and leads the execution of a robust digital newsroom aimed at increasing the visibility of AgriLife at a local, state and national level. Sets content expectations, provides recommendations to measure success and adjust strategies as needed, and plans for future forward-thinking initiatives.

-Collaborates with agency and college-based communicators across AgriLife to provide strategic guidance consistent with the institutional approach to marketing and communications.

-Participates in various on-campus marketing/communications teams.

-Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements Education
– Bachelor's degree in communications or equivalent combination of education and experience.

– Eight years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities – Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
