Applications are invited for appointment as Assistant Registrar in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 494190), to commence as soon as possible on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

 

Recognizing that human capital is our most important resource, in 2017 the Faculty engaged a team of international experts to identify effective means to address the significant challenges we face in recruiting and retaining clinical academic talent to sustain and build on our commendable track record. A key recommendation was the creation of a new Faculty Clinical Academic Careers Office (CACO) with a senior clinical academic strategic lead and responsive HR professional. The major roles of the CACO are to: provide a focal point for advice and support for clinical academics in training; and to coordinate various initiatives proposed to improve clinical academic career pathway recruitment, retention and staff development activities.

 

Applicants should possess a good university degree or professional qualification, preferably with more than 10 years’ experience in human resource management with NGOs, higher educational institutions or healthcare organizations. Good knowledge of medical staff and academic recruitment and promotion processes, as well as being well versed in the goals and the challenges confronting the clinical academic pathway would be an advantage. Applicants should also be competent communicators with an excellent command of English and Chinese; be self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and able to work proficiently with significant independence; and possess a high level of interpersonal, organisational, time-management and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to plan and implement significant projects is also required.

 

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
