Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer (holding the title of Assistant Project Manager) in the Faculty of Education (Ref.:  507956), to commence on September 1, 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter until August 31, 2024 on a fixed-term basis.

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field with 5 years’ post-qualification full-time working experience, a Master’s degree with 3 years’ post-qualification working experience, or a Ph.D. degree with 1 year’s post-qualification working experience, preferably in the field of educational projects.  Preference will be given to those with experience in working with schools and teachers, teachers’ professional development and/or electronic-educational practice. They should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese and the ability to complete multiple assignments concurrently while balancing priorities and meeting deadlines. They should also have the ability to work independently and as a team, and the capacity to work under pressure and multi-task. Advanced computer skills are highly preferred. 

The appointee will work on a project on learner diversity, with a focus on differentiated instruction, being primarily engaged in project-related activities. He/She will be responsible for coordinating the work within the team; providing administrative and managerial support; coordination among schools, team members and project management office; supporting the development of an online educational platform; assisting in implementing and evaluating project initiative and activities; organizing events, functions, visits; assisting in the preparation of promotional and dissemination events and materials; assisting in daily operation and performing other duties as assigned.

Immediate availability is preferred. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview. 

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
