This is a TEMPORARY, PART-TIME, LIMITED-TERM position. It begins Upon Hire and is expected to run through June of 2019.

The Foster School of Business has an outstanding opportunity open for an Interim Counseling Services Coordinator.

 

This position will provide temporary coverage as a liaison for over 28 Foster School student organizations.

 

• Counsel the student officers and members of the student organizations.
o Advise the student organizations on appropriate activities by holding weekly office hours and scheduling appointments with representatives as requested
o Manage office space for student organizations.
o Facilitate room assignments for club meetings.
o Work with student organizations to ensure a successful transfer of knowledge to new officers
o Promote the student Leadership Retreat to student organizations to ensure participation
o Assist with promotion of events via social media and digital outlets in Foster buildings (including but not limited to the Deloitte Commons screens).
o Ensure that student organizations present the Foster School positively to our stakeholders (the University and corporate community and alumni).
o Interface with Foster Advancement team as appropriate to cultivate additional funding for student organizations.

 

• Counsel the Undergraduate Business Council (the governing body of all Foster School student organizations)

o Attend weekly UBC governance meetings
o Support monthly all-club meetings sponsored by UBC
o Meet with UBC chair weekly
• Review responsibilities
• Interface with UBC on UP needs (i.e. volunteer needs, preparing for specific events, etc.)
o Interface with faculty advisers of student organizations to encourage consistent support.
o Logistical support of Spotlight Dinner


Shepherd BUILD program to successful culmination of 2018-19 academic year
• Promote opportunities to Foster undergraduates
• Track completion of BUILD requirements
• Create certificates and secure gifts (as appropriate)
• Support individual BUILD events (room set-up, speaker support, check-in, etc.)
• Plan celebration for end-of-year for completers

 

Support programming to connect undergraduates with the Foster School including the scavenger hunt during Advising and Orientation

 

This position requires evening and weekend work to support student organization programming.

Other duties as assigned.


Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, and two years of program planning, collegiate student development, student services, or related experience. Must be comfortable working independently in a customer service focused, fast-paced, team oriented office setting. Able to juggle a variety of task, prioritizing steps and problem-solving. Must enjoy working with a diverse student body. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as solid interpersonal and presentation abilities are required. Familiarity with the administrative structure of a large university highly desirable.
