Head of Business Partnerships (Internal Secondment)


We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual with extensive experience of partnership working across academia and business sectors to lead the recently established Business Partnerships Team within the Strategic Partnerships Office.

 

The Head of Business Partnerships will support the work of the Vice Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Enterprise and Business Relations) by leading the development of the University's portfolio of activities and relationship with businesses. We will look to you to develop approaches which respond to the opportunities for regional and national industrial growth strategies. You will play a key role in the development of an overarching strategy and supporting activity for the following key areas:

 

Business relations - growing and supporting the University's portfolio of activities and relations with businesses, with a particular focus on developing and supporting strategic partnerships;

 

The Enterprise ecosystem - supporting on-going development of the internal enterprise ecosystem;

 

The Local ecosystem Cambridge - supporting the University to play a leading role in nurturing the Cambridge cluster;

 

The Regional ecosystem - establishing the role of the University in supporting the regional industrial strategy development and implementation.

 

With the proven ability to think strategically and provide concise analyses of issues and options, you will develop strategies to ensure the University is well placed to respond to external change. You will be able to demonstrate your understanding of the cultures and political environments within which businesses and HEIs operate and have the ability to interact with and influence staff at all levels across the collegiate University.

 

You will join us with experience managing and developing high performing teams and the ability to work independently or as part of a team, both within the office and interdepartmentally. This challenging and exciting role will require the delivery of multiple priorities within tight deadlines. You will be educated to at least first degree level and education to PhD level would be desirable.

This position is offered as a secondment for one year in the first instance. The hours of work for this position are full time, however, requests for part-time or other flexible working arrangements will be considered.
