Your opportunity:

The Parking & Transportation Services office is an exciting, dynamic and engaging work environment promoting teamwork, diligence and a positive attitude. Under the general direction of the Manager, Parking & Transportation, the incumbent coordinates all activities related to the efficient administrative operation of the Parking & Transportation Services office at the Mississauga Campus. The incumbent is also responsible for enforcement of parking regulation and policies at the Mississauga Campus.


Your responsibilities will include:
Providing detailed explanations on parking and ticketing procedures
Liaising with contacts to ensure consistent administration procedures are followed
Performing site checks of parking lots
Checking that assigned work completed meets expected standards
Determining logistical details related to issuing parking permits, passes and/or annual permit renewal processes
Following rules and procedural instructions when tagging, towing and/or issuing warning tags for illegally park vehicles
Balancing financial transactions against sales on a regular basis
Generating standard financial reports


Essential Qualifications:
College Diploma specializing in Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Formal education in an enforcement related program would be an asset (for example: MLEO certification, Investigations and Enforcement, Protection and Security, Public Safety Management, Police Foundations, etc.).
Minimum four years including operational, financial and office administration.
Minimum four years handling cash/POS transactions, maintaining computer and hardcopy records, financial experience including preparing deposit reports and reviewing for accuracy, budget planning and financial reporting.
Customer service experience is mandatory.
Demonstrated experience in implementing administrative or financial systems.
A minimum of 1 years’ experience in parking enforcement or security services is mandatory.
Must possess a valid Ontario Class G Driver's License.
Must be able to complete (within three months of hire) the Municipal Law Enforcement Officer (MLEO) Training administered by the City of Mississauga.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with a superior customer service approach.
The ability to deal tactfully, personably and effectively with administrators, faculty, staff and students, as well as members of the public.
Maintain accuracy under pressure; good judgment; ability to interpret and apply guidelines to a variety of situations in the parking operation.
Must be able to understand and interpret financial transactions and reports.
Strong knowledge and experience with computer software such as: Windows, MS-Word; MS Excel; database management systems for financial and administrative activity (e.g. SAP/FIS, AIMS); and experience with List serves are required.
Ability to work independently, effectively multitask, and work with minimal direct supervision.
Ability to deal with a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with some interruptions.
Must be able to work overtime when required, such as fiscal year end, annual parking permit issuances, employee absences, and special events/projects.
Frequent walking is required, both inside and outside, in all weather conditions. Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.


Assets (Nonessential):
Customer service experience within an academic environment.
Knowledge of University of Toronto Mississauga and its parking operations.
Experience supervising staff.
A minimum of 1 years’ experience in parking enforcement or security services in an academic environment.
Knowledge of parking systems and equipment used in the field.
Experience in the transportation industry, particularly with scheduling.
Knowledge of AODA standards an asset (i.e. when assessing parking and transportation requirements).

Pay Scale Group and Hiring Rate: USW Pay Band 10 -- $59,755 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $76,414. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
