Applications are invited for appointment as Administrative Assistant I/II (AAI/AAII) (holding the functional title of Assistant Director) in the Centre for Information Technology in Education within the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 492549), to commence on March 1, 2019 or as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

 

Applicants should have (i) a Ph.D./Ed.D. degree in an appropriate area, such as science education, e-learning, assessment, curriculum studies in education; (ii) a teaching qualification; (iii) a first degree in science or equivalent; (iv) experiences in research on teacher learning and/or school development, preferably with experience in the design and teaching of teacher education courses on e-learning and/or e-assessment, and the management of large scale school-development projects; and (v) at least 5 years’ work experience. Those with experience in leading school-based action-learning research, qualitative and quantitative research and familiarity with the local school curriculum would have a distinct advantage. Applicants with less experience will be considered for the position as AAII.

 

The appointee will be responsible for the Centre’s daily operations; assist the Centre Director in various roles including applications for grants and projects; oversee and manage projects; supervise, coach and lead the project team staff and ensure their timely completion and the quality of the deliverables; draft project reports; conduct both quantitative and qualitative research; and disseminate research results through various means including academic papers, seminars and conferences.

 

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary for AAI and 10% of basic salary for AAII.
