Quality Assurance Officer

Social Sciences Division, Hayes House, 75 George Street, Oxford

Grade 7: £31,604 - £38,833 p.a.

The Social Sciences Division at the University of Oxford is seeking to recruit a Quality Assurance Officer. As a member of the Academic Office team you will make a significant contribution to the quality assurance of the Division’s education programmes. You will provide expert advice and guidance, with a particular focus on quality assurance and educational policy, to departments and the Division’s academic committees, and ensure that the implications of policy changes are fully understood and implemented at the departmental level. You will be expected to develop and maintain an excellent understanding of the undergraduate and graduate programmes under the aegis of the division’s departments, and a specialist knowledge of the university and division’s quality assurance procedures and educational policies, recommending and implementing improvements to these as appropriate in collaboration with senior colleagues.


Educated to degree level, you will have significant previous experience of administration in higher education, with a strong understanding of quality assurance processes and procedures. You will have effective interpersonal skills, a proven ability to analyse and present complex quantitative and qualitative data in a variety of formats, and experience of formal committee servicing. You will have a positive solution focused approach, and an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a busy team, providing high quality service to our departments.


This permanent, full-time role is based at the Social Sciences Divisional Office, 75 George Street, Oxford.
