The Management & Maintenance department monitors, inspects and maintains all buildings, sites and energy installations on campus. She develops and manages the multi-year maintenance plans and works closely with the Projects department to carry out the larger maintenance works, new construction and renovation projects. We are looking for an area manager for the Terrein & Infra (T & I) team.


Job description


As a technical area manager you work together with professional colleagues in a fascinating and international environment with plenty of room for initiative. 

The technical area manager: 

- is responsible for the technical condition of sites and infrastructures; 
- improves the maintenance concepts and (multi-year) maintenance plans based on the current maintenance strategy, the real estate strategy and changes in this; 
- provides input for the multi-year maintenance budget; 
- ensures timely remediation and / or securing of faults and calamities in the public area; 
- translates maintenance works into work descriptions and specifications for the procurement of maintenance to suppliers;
- approves and finishes his plans with fellow Technical & Functional Area Managers, Building Managers and the Projects Department; 
- outsource work to suppliers, agree and manage supplier contracts; 
- acts as a client for the Projects department with regard to the design and execution of major maintenance works; 
- assess the specifications of renovation and new construction projects from the managerial point of view; 
- is responsible for the financial management of the maintenance costs and the necessary financial actions and reports; 
- the team leader Land & Infrastructure presents experiences and evaluations to improve process and customer satisfaction;
- processes the preconditions and quality requirements that the area must meet in the company guide.

Conditions of employment


The function has a maximum size of 38 hours per week (1.0 FTE). We offer a contract for 1 year with a view to extension. The salary depends on age and experience based on scale 11 with a maximum of € 4,757 gross per month. TU Delft offers an attractive package of secondary employment conditions, such as a discount from health insurers and a sports subscription. You can also make agreements about flexible working hours. In addition, it is possible to compile your own remuneration package annually via the Individual Terms and Conditions of Employment package and you receive a monthly work allowance contribution. On the campus is an International Child Center with childcare, pre-school and after-school care and an international primary school. Furthermore, Dual Career Services offers support to associating partners.
