£50618 to £60410 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The University of Nottingham has a strong track record of industry engagement and enjoys strategic research partnerships with a range of a major corporate partners. An experienced business development professional is sought to lead the Corporate Partnerships team to new Senior Management role within the Technology Transfer office to develop strategic partnerships with a number of major corporate organisations.


Building on key areas of academic expertise the role will be responsible for identifying and developing long term relationships between the University and global corporate organisations around areas of academic expertise. Working across of sectors the role will be expected to refine and develop models of engagement that refresh existing relationships and develop new partnerships to the benefit of both parties.


Reporting to the Director of Engagement and Partnerships the post will play a key role in the University’s Research and Innovation (R&I) department across the spectrum of research and knowledge activity with a focus on delivering sustainable income generation. The post holder will provide a leadership, development and advisory role in supporting and driving the development business engagement across the institution. Developing and maintaining effective relationships with a range key stakeholders including key contacts at external organisations and academic and business development personnel within UoN.


It is essential that candidates have strong experience in the development of University-business R&D and knowledge exchange activities, with a sounding understanding of the development issues (costing, IP, project design).Research experience/awareness and a strong understanding of the UK landscape for R&D funding is essential.


Candidates must hold a Degree and possess strong communication skills, a higher degree in a relevant area, which incorporated research elements is desirable.
