£38833 to £47722 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The Senior Managers working within the Specialist Processes team based in Student Services (Development) provide expert advice and direction in their key area; providing a strategic and operational lead and working with colleagues across the institution to develop effective policies and processes which are kept under constant review. With over 8000 international students this is a strategically important area for the University.


The Senior Manager for Visas & Immigration will have significant professional experience of UK visa requirements for international students and will understand UK Visa & Immigration (UKVI) compliance requirements. The role holder will take a lead in terms of monitoring UKVI policy and practice and translating this into University policies and processes. Key areas of activity include CAS issuing, record keeping (including passports and visas), attendance monitoring and UKVI reporting. This is a complex and constantly changing area and the ability to keep pace with changes is vital. KPIs are used to monitor performance in this area and the production of regular management reports will be an essential part of the role. The role holder will also co-ordinate the University's Immigration Compliance Group and be a main point of contact for the UKVI, representing the University at Home Office events.


The Role Holder will also line manage a team of six staff delivering a front line specialist advisory service to students via our Service Centres. Demand for this service is high and the role holder will be responsible for the planning and review of the annual cycle of activities and allocation of related workload within the team. Complex student cases raising questions about policy and/or process will be referred to the role holder.


This vacancy is offered on a permanent basis. Hours of work for this post are 36.25 per week, normally 9.00am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday inclusive with a one hour lunch break. Part time applications working a minimum of 29 hours per week and applications for job share will also be accepted.
