Social Sciences Impact Facilitator (Fixed Term)


An opportunity has arisen to join the University's Research Office as Social Sciences Impact Facilitator.


The Social Sciences Impact Facilitator will manage and coordinate the ESRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) and provide coordination and support to impact activities across the University in social sciences. The ESRC IAA is funded by the Economic and Social Sciences Research Council.


The role holder will work with the relevant academic and research staff in the Faculties/Departments, the IAA Executive Steering Group and Chair, the School Research Facilitators and the University Research Office, to:


1 Co-ordinate support for social sciences impact activity to encourage maximum uptake


2 Provide responsive, flexible funding for social sciences impact projects


3 Provide and embed training and development and communications for social sciences impact to build capacity


4 Leverage University support to establish long term partnerships in developing the impact agenda


5 Facilitate award holders in setting up and running IAA funded activities.


6 Providing advice and facilitation for social sciences impact in general (e.g. where external funding is sought or awards of funding not required/awarded)


The role holder will act as a Secretary to the ESRC IAA Steering Group. In addition, the role holder will be University's key contact for social sciences impact with external bodies as relevant.


Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 March 2019 in the first instance.
