Strategic Bids Manager

Grade 9: £46,336 - £53,691 p.a. (pro rata for part-time)

We are looking for an exceptional candidate with a track-record of effective project management and excellent interpersonal skills to join the Medical Sciences Divisional Office in a key role to deliver strategic research bids and the Research Excellence Framework (REF). In this new senior position, the postholder will deploy their expertise and knowledge to develop strategic and practical advice, articulate compelling narratives and scrutinise and interpret data.


As the Strategic Bids Manager, you will have developed excellent project management and interpersonal skills, facilitated effective collaborative working, influenced and supported academic and professional staff at all levels to deliver successful large-scale, complex projects. You will also demonstrate excellent analytical capability and verbal and written communication skills, providing strategic advice balanced alongside practical guidance and operational leadership. In handling a demanding and varied workload, you must be able to work independently as part of a wider team, enjoy the challenge of working in a complex organisation, managing your time and prioritising work effectively and efficiently to tight deadlines. You will manage at least one team member, which you will recruit.
