Alumni Officer (0.6 FTE)
Radbound Universiteit, Faculty of Arts


As an Alumni Officer you develop and implement alumni policy for the Faculty of Arts. You are responsible for the management of alumni data in the relationship management system and for the administration of alumni. To this end, you map out the relationships between the programs, alumni and the professional field and you build up a network with alumni from the arts faculty.
In addition, you set up Advisory Boards for the three departments, which can make the link between the study programs and professional practice and who advise the study programs on their curricula within this context. You also organize events and meetings for alumni. You are responsible for communication with all literature alumni and you work together with the Communication department of the Faculty of Arts. You develop a communication strategy and know with which means and message you can reach the target group effectively and efficiently.

Working environment

The Faculty of Arts has more than five hundred employees who are engaged in education and research in the field of history and art, languages and cultures, linguistics and communication and information sciences, or with the support of this education and research. The research is conducted within one of the faculty research institutes: Center for Language Studies (CLS) or Historical, Literary and Cultural Studies (HLCS). The faculty provides training courses for approximately twenty-four hundred students, spread over three departments in the fields of history and art, languages and cultures, linguistics and communication and information sciences.

Alumni are an important part of our academic community. They remain ambassadors of the university even after completing their studies and thus form a valuable source of knowledge and expertise and a very important connection between the university and the (international) community.

You work at Career Service Arts and you work closely with the Career Service Officer and the internship coordinator. Career Service Arts offers students support and activities in preparation for entering the labor market, such as assistance with finding internships, career advice, labor market orientation and assistance with preparation of applications.

Career Service Arts is part of the Education Office of the faculty. The Education Office also comprises the Student Information Point (education administration and student desk), the faculty staff office, Osirisbeheer, International Office, study advisers, student communication, the support of the examination committee and the admission committee, the education policy staff and the IT & Education policy staff. You report to the head of the Education Office.

We expect

To properly perform this function, you have:

a completed higher professional or university education, preferably in the field of literature;
demonstrable experience in setting up and expanding networks and familiar with relationship management and systems;
affinity with the field in which letter alumni end up;
the ability to play a connecting role between alumni and the departments and programs within the faculty;
experience in developing policy and strategy, preferably in the field of alumni;
good communication and communication skills;
the ability to work independently and in a team;
a customer-friendly, flexible and proactive work attitude in which you are the 'spider in the web' who identifies matters, makes connections and sees opportunities;
organizational talent where you work creatively, decisively and with initiative;
excellent oral and written command of the Dutch and English language, preferably at C1 level.
We offer
appointment: 0.6 fte;
the salary depends on education and experience and is between € 2,835 and 3,895 gross per month (scale 9) based on a 38-hour working week;
the salary does not include 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% year-end bonus;
contract duration: 1 year;
