Administrative Assistant, NCCR Automation80%, Zurich, permanentThe Automatic Control Laboratory (IfA, https://control.ee.ethz.ch/) of the Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (D-ITET, https://ee.ethz.ch/) is recruiting an Administrative Assistant for the National Centre of Competence in Research “Dependable Ubiquitous Automation” (NCCR Automation), funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. Project backgroundNCCR Automation conducts research on methods and computational tools for automatic control and automation, as well as their applications to energy management, mobility and industrial processes. The Centre comprises 30 principal investigators in 10 research institutions across Switzerland; ETH Zurich serves as the Home Institution. The long-term support of the NCCR provides a unique opportunity for exploring novel concepts in innovation and technology transfer. Job descriptionYou will be responsible for the smooth running and independent management of the secretariat. In addition to general secretarial tasks, your varied area of responsibility includes the administration of financial resources, the financial accounting of the research project, the monitoring and preparation of the budget, invoicing and the handling of major procurements. You will also be responsible for personnel administration and the organisaiton of events and workshops. In this function, you will work closely with the NCCR Management Team, the secretariats of the participating professorships and other interfaces within the NCCR and at ETH. ProfileWe are looking for a proactive person who will be able to work independently on a wide range of secretarial tasks. You have a commercial or equivalent education and several years of professional experience in a similar function. Excellent knowledge of German (ideally mother tongue) and English (Advanced/Proficiency) as well as a confident handling of MS Office programmes are a prerequisite. A high quality of service is important to you in your work. You have a self-confident manner in an international environment, and you convince with your efficient, prudent and forward-looking way of working, your own initiative as well as your organisational talent.
