Job description

Job summary

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work with national and international leaders in healthcare research on a pioneering programme to deliver the highest quality of care to patients.

You will take the lead role in the development of health improvement and improvement science work to support delivery of an ambitious programme of clinical and non-clinical research projects. They will also take a lead role in training and mentoring local project teams and work with the programme leads to ensure they are undertaking effective health improvement work.

You will bring leadership, guidance and expert knowledge to the NlHR ARC for Northwest London and support the translation of evidence into practise to deliver improvements that can be replicated across the NHS. This will involve providing support to the ARC research themes to plan and evaluate their projects.

Duties and responsibilities

You will work with the ARC Director, ARC research theme leads, and ARC speciality leads to ensure that health improvement and improvement science work is embedded across the ARC research programme.

You will lead Improvement projects and manage staff working on these projects in their improvement role, whilst providing leadership and mentoring to NHS staff and other collaborators working on ARC improvement and implementation projects.

Essential requirements

A PhD and prior experience of relevant work are essential for this post. This would include publications in relevant journals and successful grant applications.

The role requires the ability to coordinate and motivate a team to work successfully together and to organise work effectively to meet deadlines.

You will have excellent communication skills and a good understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods is essential to this role.
