The Clinical School wishes to appoint a Year Coordinator for Year 5 of the standard medical course. This is a secondment opportunity, for three years in the first instance, based at the Clinical School in Cambridge.

The Year 5 Coordinator will have responsibility for liaising with Specialty and Theme Leads to ensure delivery of course and placement learning objectives for Year 5. They will also liaise with regional hospitals regarding delivery of the curriculum and placement capacity, and they will work with the Clinical School Deanery Team to coordinate teaching for clinical students when they are in Cambridge. Applicants should be experienced clinical teachers, with excellent organisational and communication skills.

The weekly commitment is for 1 Programmed Activity / 1PA (paid at the appropriate rate with respect to seniority) which must be explicit in the individual's job plan. Candidates must hold a substantive NHS appointment at Consultant, GP Principal, or equivalent level. As the role is being offered as a secondment, if an individual is self-employed, retired, employed by a non-NHS organisation, or is otherwise unable to take up the role on a secondment basis, they must contact the Clinical School to discuss possible options. All candidates must have full registration with the GMC, and hold a license to practice.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.

This appointment requires an Honorary Clinical Contract. This is an integrated appointment between the University and relevant NHS Trust / Body. You will therefore also be issued with an Honorary Clinical Contract by the NHS Trust. You should be aware that if your contract with the NHS Trust is terminated your employment with the University will be terminated, and vice versa.
