Assistant Professor/Academic Fieldwork Coordinator

Posting Summary

The AFWC will provide leadership, development and maintenance for all aspects of the design and coordination of fieldwork rotations for this 8-semester, entry-level OT doctorate program, teaching fieldwork-relevant content as well as practice related content. They will oversee the administrative fieldwork assistant (AFWA) in collaboration with the Program Director and collaborate with the other clinical coordinators in the department. Reporting to the Program Director, the AFWC will initiate innovative fieldwork experiences, including the development of pro bono clinics and emerging practice sites for Level I and II settings. They will assure accreditation standards related to clinical experiences are met. This is an 12-month, 1.0 FTE term or extended term contract position usually beginning as an assistant professor. The AFWC is responsible for ensuring compliance with Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) Standards Section C.1.0. Fieldwork Education.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Doctoral degree from an institution accredited by a USDE-recognized
regional accrediting body
• Minimum 5 years practice experience
• Prior experience designing significant learning experiences and assessing
outcomes
• Demonstrated professional leadership (local, regional or national)
• Demonstrated skill mediating multiple stakeholder needs
• Strong community networking skills and team collaboration
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• OT License eligible in New Jersey
• Current NBCOT certification
• AOTA & NJOTA membership

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator
• A terminal academic degree (PhD, EdD, ScD, DSc, etc.)
• Experience with graduate student supervision in practice and community
settings
• History of scholarly achievement related to occupation-centered practice or
education
